Mehmet Onur Sezgun is a dedicated and compassionate Registered Social Worker with a passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from York University in 2017 and 2019, respectively. With a strong educational foundation, Mehmet has been actively involved in the field of counselling since 2019.
Mehmet's expertise lies in his unique blend of therapeutic approaches, utilizing an existential-humanistic framework to empower his clients. Throughout his career, he has gained valuable experience as a community social worker and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counsellor. In these roles, he has provided support to individuals facing a wide range of issues, including mental health concerns, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, and personal growth. By applying a holistic approach, Mehmet aims to foster self-awareness, authenticity, and resilience in his clients.
Mehmet incorporates evidence-based interventions into his practice, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based practices. By combining these approaches, he helps individuals develop new perspectives, challenge negative thought patterns, and cultivate a greater sense of mindfulness and self-compassion.
